Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, John Surette and the DeNiros are a punk-pop quartet that are intent on bringing catchy songs and vitality back to the world of rock 'n' roll.

John Surette & the DeNiros have an amazingly original sound that combines both the explosive rock of British bands (The Who, The Jam, The Kinks, The Clash & Oasis) and the true American sound of Boston...and beyond.

This music speaks to anyone that yearns for a connection with something honest and real. John Surette & the DeNiros have only one motive,"to play punk influenced rock 'n' roll as it was originally intended... from the heart with attitude and substance".

Surette and company have covererd all the right bases which is evident on the first listen to their self-titled CD demo "John Surette & the DeNiros", produced by Surette and David Minehan (The Neighborhoods, Paul Westerberg).

Lyrically, Surette has something to say and has always had a knack for calling it the way he sees it, whether in the context of his songs or between songs during a set on a Friday night.

In a very real way Surette has picked up where singer/songwriters like Paul Weller (The Jam), Joe Strummer (The Clash), and Paul Westerberg (The Replacements) had left off in their prime, while expressing his own point of view.

Musically, John Surette and the DeNiros have injected the urgency of The Jam and The Clash, the guitar punch of the Who and the catchy twist and turns of the Kinks, into Surette's own songwriting style...and they have pulled it off effortlessly.
